Thank you for creating this tumblr. It's so crucial for us to learn more about what is happening in Juarez. Specially, when it's not covered in the media or paid attention to, it's erased, forgotten, but it can't be so in a sense you are giving them the voice they have been denied.

Dear God, Let us pray for all the innocent victims of the femicide taking place in the city of Juarez. Let us pray for the mothers who will never see their children again, let us pray for the daughters who out of thin air dissappeared one day, let us pray for the families of these victims whose lives have been filled with pain. Let us pray for closure, and may God have mercy on the souls of the persons guilty of these crimes. Amen.

Over 400 women and girls have been brutally killed in Ciudad Juárez and Chihuahua, Mexico since 1993. Some of the victims were employees of the maquiladora industry and disappeared on their way to or from work.

Maria Sagrario Gonzales Flores

Sister of Maria Sagrario Gonzales

Was a 17 year old worker, was raped, torture and murdered on her way home from working in a maquiladora. She was last seen boarding the maquiladora bus for her long trip to return home. She never arrived home. Her battered body was found on April 30 1998 at Loma Blanca not far away from her home.

Norma Andrade - Mother of Alejandra Andrade

17 year old girl who was kidnapped on Valentine’s Day 2001, and six days later her nude body was found wrapped in a blanket and dumped in an empty lot in front of the plastics plant she had worked at. She had been choked, savagely beaten in the face, and parts of her breasts had been removed.

Brenda Berenice Castillo

Was 17 years old when she left her one month old son in charge of her parents while she went to downtown Juarez to look for a job. Missing for over two years, it is as if she vanished into thin air. Up to today the family has no where abouts of Brenda.

Ciudad Juárez (México), 17 dic (EFE).- Una mexicana, que luchaba desde hace dos años para que se hiciera justicia en la muerte de su hija, fue asesinada por un sujeto que le disparó en la cabeza mientras se manifestaba frente al Palacio de Gobierno de Chihuahua, confirmó hoy el gobernador de ese estado, César Duarte.
Marisela Escobedo Ortiz, de 52 años, fue atacada por un grupo de tres hombres que inició una discusión con ella, uno de los cuales le dio un balazo a quemarropa mientras se manifestaba en la capital del estado.
